The chief executive of the Fiji Sugar Corporation, Abdul Shamshar, says sugar industry delegates will go to India following the current visit to New Delhi by the prime minister, Laisenia Qarase.
Mr Qarase is in India this week with one of the largest delegations ever to go on a visit.
Mr Shamshar says Mr Qarase is likely to discuss sugar industry matters as India has tendered to upgrade the Fiji sugar factories.
"There is a few issues that we have raised with the prime minister to carry forward and talk about at that level - something we could have done ourselves. But we thought if it happened at that level it would be better."
Abdul Shamshar say discussions will be more productive after the prime minister's visit.
