Reports from French Polynesia say striking workers have set up a partial blockade of the industrial port zone of Papeete.

The Tahitipresse news agency says trucks belonging to the company Polygaz are being used to close off part of the Motu Uta area.

The strike notice by the CSIP union was lodged amid concern by some employees about their future.

The reports say eight companies are affected by the strike.
