5:02 pm on 13 October 2005

More American Samoans are being questioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigations as part of the continuing investigations into public corruption in the territory.

Last week, a government employee and relative of a political figure was questioned by the officials in Honolulu.

Our corespondent says the person was in Honolulu for four days.

An attorney has confirmed that the resident was questioned but says he is not allowed to disclose any information about what it relates to.

The Public Integrity Section of the US Department of Justice would not offer any comment.

The chief judge in the Hawaii federal district court Judge David Ezra indicated during the sentencing of former Manager of the School Lunch Program Toeutu Solaita that the problems in American Samoa are not disappearing for some time.
