Longtime Fiji mortgage lender, Home Finance Limited, has applied for a licence to operate as a commercial bank.
Radio Legend quotes a company spokesperson, Maria Volavola, as saying HFC Finance Bank will offer some new services not currently available from other commercial banks.
She says it may take the Reserve Bank of Fiji about three months to consider their application.
Once approved the company plans to offer commercial banking services in Suva, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa.
