The American Samoan governor, Togiola Tulafono, has officially declared this week as the Moso'oi Tourism Festival week in American Samoa.
Togiola says the annual celebration, which is to promote tourism, is to advance Polynesian customs.
He says it is also to conserve the Samoa culture lifestyle in promoting all aspects of celebrating the Samoan culture and tourism development.
The festival opens with the inaugural Tattoo Festival.
