The PNG Coffee Growers Federation is aiming to plant two million coffee seedlings each year.

The National newspaper reports federation chairman Jon Yogiyo as saying its 150 coffee co-operatives and 80,000 coffee growers would plant the new trees each year to increase coffee output to two million bags by 2020.

Mr Yogiyo says the Coffee Industry Corporation has set up coffee nurseries for organised coffee growers' groups across the country.

He said the federation is going to push for the Blue Mountain and Arusha coffee varieties for its new plantings in the Highlands.
