Fiji's newly formed National Alliance Party to hold coalition talks with all political parties

Fiji's newly established National Alliance Party is to have coalition talks with all political parties, including the ruling SDL, in preparation for next year's general election.

The party leader, Ratu Epeli Ganilau, has told Radio Legend that they have not reached any agreement with the Fiji Labour Party.

He says their options remain open to examine the policies of all parties before making the final decision.

Ratu Epeli says it is a matter of agreeing on some of the things they all hold dear.

He says the National Alliance was formed to provide an alternative, and enable people to move away from the racial politics they have been subjected to by existing parties.

Ratu Epeli insists that the people have to be given a choice because the only solution for Fiji is a multi-racial philosphy.
