Tonga has completed negotiations to join the World Trade Organisation.
Reports from Geneva say the talks, which began in 1995, have reached a formal conclusion in Switzerland this morning.
Trade officials say the formal approval of Tonga's entry will given at the World Trade Organisation ministerial conference in Hong Kong.
The conference starts on December 13th, and Tonga's actual accession is scheduled to take place about a month later.
Tonga will be the 150th member of the WTO.
