Two distinguished women were recognized this week for their outstanding contributions to Samoa.
Professor Aiono Fana'afi Le Tagaloa, a former Director of Education and founder of the Samoan language university Le Amosa was presented with the Order of Merit.
Anglican Archdeacon and envoy to the United Nations, Taimalelagi Fagamalama Matalavea was invested as a member of the Order of Samoa.
Taimalelagi is the first Anglican Archdeacon in the Pacific and is serving her fourth year as the Anglican envoy to the United Nations.
