American Samoa senate leader seeks hearing on governor's plane

American Samoa's Senate President Lolo Letalu Moliga plans to hold hearings when the Fono reconvenes to try and gather information about the governor's purchase of an aircraft.

Back in November the Senate President had written to the governor asking for a report on money spent on the plane, how its operation and maintenance costs are funded, and what the aircraft would be used for.

Lolo said there has been no response from the governor.

But senate staff have made contact with someone who has been involved with the purchase of the plane and he's said to have provided some startling information about the condition of the aircraft and its suitability for the mission for which it was bought.
