Guam to benefit from Philippine Airlines stopover

11:51 am on 12 January 2006

Guam's international airport will get an additional US$400,000 in revenue per year because Philippine Airlines will be using it as a technical stop for its trans-Pacific flights.

The Marianas Variety reports the agreement will cover PAL's daily B747-400 flights originating from Los Angeles and San Francisco and on the Airbus A340 service every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from both cities.

Under the technical stop arrangement, PAL will not be able to pick up passengers on Guam, but can refuel and pick up supplies.
