The Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas High School has asked the government for more financial assistance.
The government has given 40,000 US dollars towards operational expenses in the 2005-2006 school year.
The principal, Karen Borja, says it's the lowest amount the school has been given in four years.
She says the school had been given 60,000 dollars the previous year.
The Saipan Tribune reports Ms Borja as saying the latest allocation would cut funding for maintenance work and essentials such as toilet paper.
She says the school would also be unable to afford to get rid of termites or do major repairs to unsafe buildings.
The budget proposal has passed both the House and the Senate but has been sent back to the House for revision.
