American Samoa is experiencing some of the lowest rates in the region for local wireless and long distance communications and Internet.
American Samoa Governor Togiola Tulafono says there is healthy competition between government owned Americann Samoa TeleCommunications Authority and wireless telecom provider Blue Sky Communications.
The governor said American Samoa has officially entered the North American Numbering Plan.
The telecoms authority continues to pay for its own operation, even with the reduced rates.
