Palau hopes to host training centre for UN peacekeeper police

Palau hopes to become a training centre for police officers working in United Nations peacekeeping missions.

The Palauan ambassador to the UN, Stuart Beck, wants the country to take part in the special committee overseeing peacekeeping operations, after it sent police officers to work in UN missions.

Meanwhile, the UN development agency has suggested it will open a Micronesian regional office in Palau.
