Contrary to earlier reports, the United Nations is not appealing for the killers of a boy in the Indonesian province of Papua to be brought to justice.

The Unrepresented Nations and Peoples' Organisation made the appeal last week from the Dutch administrative capital, The Hague.

Contrary to earlier reports, the UNPO is not a UN agency.

The UN has not made any statement on Papuan rights for years.

The UNPO said on the 20th January, Indonesian troops unit 753 based in the Paniai region, fired, apparently randomly, into a local market, causing the death of Mozes Douw, a teenage student, and injuring two other young people.
