Further rain forecast for American Samoa after flooding and landslips

9:14 am on 7 February 2006

American Samoa is heading for a second week of non-stop rain as a trough refuses to move away.

The National Weather Service says the winds have subsided but showers will continue for a few more days and may decrease by Wednesday local time.

Heavy rain led to flooding and landslides in the territory last week.
