American Samoa's US Congressman says the territory will receive a signifcant incease in Medicaid payments under the provisions of the Deficit Reduction Act.
President Bush signed the Act yesterday and Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says it will mean an increase of around two million US dollars this year and four million next year.
Guam will get 2 point five million this year and five million for 2007.
And the CNMI will receive another 1 million for 2006 and 2 million next year.
Faleomavaega says he and other Pacific political representatives along with backers in Washington, have worked for more than a year and a half to get the greater funding.
