The Governor of American Samoa, Togiola Tulafono, has announced that plans to bring call centre business to the territory will go ahead if deals can be reached with a group of visiting businessmen next week.

Governor Togiola said the visitors will analyze American Samoa's telecommunications and human resource infrastructure and if satisfied, will contract Information Technology American Samoa (ITAS), to build and operate call centres.

The group is part of an American company, called Safelite Autoglass and includes a call centre consultant originally hired by Safelite to study the feasibility of outsourcing call centres to India.
