The former Wallaby coach, Eddie Jones, is to head to the Pacific Islands region shortly to review the rugby union coaching strategies in Tonga, Samoa and Fiji.

Mr Jones has been appointed by the International Rugby Board as part of their ongoing development programme in the region.

Mr Jones - who begins his review this month - says his initial role will be to see what the current situation is at the moment.

"I've got a fairly open mind, I think that's pretty important that I going there and talk to the people involved at the moment, have a look at what's happening, assess what's happening and then make some recommendations after that, I think it would be the wrong way going there thinking that you've already got some answers to maybe some of the issues that are already there"
