New Zealand government representatives will be French Polynesia this week to encourage hundreds of final year students to consider furthering their education in New Zealand.

The Tahiti Education Forum's focus this week will be on New Zealand, with high schools and polytechnics invited to showcase what they can offer the around two thousand final year students.

The Pape'ete-based, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Business Development Manager,Cathy Allgaier, says New Zealand is a popular destination for French PolynesiaN students wanting to learn English.

But says her agency would like to see more students taking opportunities to complete degrees and explore some of the other courses on offer from New Zealand.

In July last year, the French Polynesia President Oscar Temaru visited New Zealand and met with a number of educational institutions and industries as part of a move to establish stronger ties.
