Young Solomon Islanders are likely to be among candidates contesting the upcoming national election.
The Solomons Star reports that an organisation called Solomon Islands Youth for Change has been formed to identify the best candidates.
The chairman of Youth for Change, Kemuel Laeta, says the project is based on the Youth in Parliament Pilot Project.
He says it is time that youths contested the elections to enable issues important to them to be discussed at the national level.
Mr Laeta says having such political representation has been an inspiration for the group since its formation last year.
