The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, has explained the reasons behind the recent reshuffle of government ministers and permanent secretaries.

The SIBC reports Sir Allan as saying it was necessary to ensure government services and policies are implemented to the last day of the caretaker government.

He says some of the ministers were moved to other ministries because of differences between them and their permanent secretaries.

Sir Allan says there are other reasons such as investigations being carried out on various departments which necessitated the reshuffle.

The Prime Minister says the government wants to see its action plans and policies implemented and the reshuffle will enhance the process.
