Solomon Islands has turned down an invitation from China to meet in Nadi in early April.

The Chinese premier, Wen Jiabao, is making an historic first ever trip to Fiji for the China/Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Conference.

But the Solomons' caretaker Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, says he won't be going.

Sir Allen says he has rejected the invitation because Solomon Islands has diplomatic relations with Taiwan.
