Kiribati police seize locally made porn

3:04 pm on 24 March 2006

Police in Kiribati have confiscated computers and film production equipment belonging to an expatriate alleged to have produced pornographic films.

Police say investigations are continuing following the emergence of these films made at homes on South Tarawa.

A senior police officer says police have in their possessions these films and the computer.

While police have declined to identify the foreigner in question, they have confirmed that the person has been living in Kiribati for many years.

Church and women organisations have expressed grave concern at the production of films involving Kiribati women having sex.
