Fiji National Alliance Party endorses military's truth and justice campaign

9:00 am on 5 April 2006

The National Alliance Party of Fiji says it fully supports the military's truth and justice campaign to educate people about corrupt and unscrupulous politicians.

Speaking on Radio Legend's Hindi language sister station, the party's Manu Korovulavula said the campaign is important because the people must understand the truth about what is happening.

Mr Korovulavula says it is not right for the people to be told only one side of the story when they need to know both.

On the military's strained relations with the Qarase government, Mr Korovulavula says only a prime minister with a military background such as the National Alliance leader Ratu Epeli Ganilau would be able to restore the relationship

He says as a former military commander, Ratu Epeli is better able to understand the situation than someone who has never been a soldier like Mr Qarase.

Mr Korovulavula says Ratu Epeli would be able to harmonise the relationship.
