The deputy prime minister in the previous Solomon Islands government, Snyder Rini, has retained his seat, with several others of his cabinet colleagues also winning their seats.
Among them is the finance minister, Peter Boyers.
Re-elected MPs are Trevor Olovae, Siriako Usa, James Tora and Fred Fono.
Patteson Oti is also back in parliament as are the two former prime ministers Bartholomew Ulufa'alu and Francis Billy Hilly.
Four former Opposition members have lost their seats so far - they are Meshack Maetoloa, Yukio Sato, Joses Tuhanuku and Dr Steve Aumanu.
Counting in the seat of care-taker Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza should be completed at the end of today.
