Production delays at New Caledonia mine help boost world nickel price to record level

Meanwhile the price of nickel has struck a record high of 20,000 dollars per tonne boosted by the rise of copper prices and production delays in New Caledonia.

The price of nickel has jumped 33 percent in one month and 48 percent since the start of 2006.

Copper prices have reached 7,040 dollars per tonne the highest since copper was first listed on London's Metal Exchange.
