The Solomon Islands Opposition says it can guarantee 25 votes when Parliament meets to vote for a new prime minister next Thursday.

Four of the MPs who crossed the floor yesterday to bring about the downfall of Snyder Rini's prime ministership have changed sides again.

But the Opposition spokesman, Gordon Darcy Lilo, says they are confident that 25 of the MPs from the 48 expected in parliament next week will support their candidate Manasseh Sogavare for prime minister.

"There's no tricks about it, there's no incentives, it is basically trust and confidence and the determination to ensure that we form the next government ,that the people will look at as a new government that will a change from the previous regime that has been running the government in Solomon Islands."
