The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency has signed a contract with Fletcher construction to begin renovations and extensions to its headquarters in Honiara.
The FFA's Director-General, Feleti Teo, says the Agency has progressively increased its staffing levels by 30 percent this year and now needs more space.
And he says it needs to begin construction now to ensure the efficient delivery of fisheries management services and advice to its members.
The office building upgrade includes work on the library/archives area; installation of air conditioning; and upgrades to the power supply.
