A Solomon Islands government minister says unemployed people in Honiara and other urban centres should be sent back to their villages.
The lands minister, the Reverend Leslie Boseto, says thousands of jobless Solomon Islanders are involved in criminal activities because they have nothing to do.
He says they should return home to help with community development.
But the minister says ways and means must be found to secure rural development projects to engage many of the young jobless Solomon Islanders in worthwhile activities.
