The caucus of the Fiji Labour Party and its coalition partners have given the Labour leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, the responsibility of deciding whether they should join a multi-party cabinet.
The newly re-appointed prime minister, Laisenia Qarase, has offered Labour 7 cabinet portfolios in line with the power sharing provisions of the constitution.
They are responsibility for agriculture, health, commerce and industry, labour and industrial relations, local government and urban development, energy and mineral resources, and environment.
After a caucus meeting late last night, Mr Chaudhry told Radio Legend that the Labour and United People's Party MPs have left it to him to decide whether they should accept Mr Qarase's invitation to join in a multi-party cabinet.
The other MPs have remained tightlipped on what happened during the caucus meeting.
Mr Chaudhry says he will make a comprehensive statement on his decision later today.
