Former unsuccessful congressional candidate Aumua Amata Coleman, has officially announced her candidacy for the November 2006 General Election.

Aumua is seeking to unseat incumbent Faleomavaega Eni, the current Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives for American Samoa.

Faleomavaega announced his candidacy last year and filed papers this year with the Federal Election Office.

Health is among the issues on Aumua's election platform and she promised to find new funding for a new hospital facility for the territory.

Education, economic benefits and military issues are also on her platform.

A third candidate Representative Muavaefa'atasi Ae Ae Jr., is also expected to enter the race though he has yet to make an official announcement.

The deadline for candidate registration is September 1st.
