Fiji Labour Party MP under fire from fellow colleagues

7:10 am on 17 June 2006

More Fiji Labour Party ministers in the multi-party cabinet have hit out at fellow ministerial colleague Lekh Ram Vyashnoi for his continuing public criticism of government policies.

The minister for local government, Chetanya Lakshman, has told Radio Legend matters relating to cabinet should be dealt within cabinet.

Mr Lakshman says he does not see any forum for ministers to be talking outside cabinet.

The Labour Party's minister for environment, Poseci Bune, says Mr Vyashnoi is an embarrassment to the party.

The Labour Party MP, Daniel Urai, says there is no need for Mr Vyashnoi to echo the sentiments of the Fiji Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry.
