Talks held in Samoa over Apia-Honolulu flights

7:33 am on 26 June 2006

Talks are underway in Samoa between the government and Hawaiian Airline on the best options available to connect Samoa and Hawaii.

Hawaiian Airline pulled out of Apia a couple of years ago.

Keoni Wagner and three other Honolulu-based Hawaiian Air officials were in Apia last week to meet government officials and Polynesian Airlines.

Currently passengers traveling between Honolulu and Apia travel via Pago Pago on Hawaiian Airlines.

Mr Wagner says that the discussions are very productive.

He says talks will continue but declined to say when an announcement will be made on its outcome.
