The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports the government's move to encourage foreign investment in the country.
But, it says it is not clear which businesses will be reserved for Solomon Islanders under the amended foreign investment act coming into force this week.
The new act will speed up the application process of foreign investors.
The Chamber says increased foreign investment will help in the areas of education, health, transport services, communications and infrastructure development.
