The Fiji Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, has admitted there is a serious split at the highest levels of his party.
And he has threatened disciplinary action against five management board members who questioned his senate nominations and leadership style. .
Radio Legend quotes Mr Chaudhry as saying he would not discuss his senate nominations in public.
He says the nominations are the leader's prerogative and this was explained to the management board members.
Mr Chaudhry says President Iloilo has accepted the nominations, the matter is settled and the issue closed.
He also says cabinet ministers Poseci Bune and Krishna Datt, MPs Felix Anthony and Agni Deo Singh, and former senator Dr Atu Emberson-Bain have breached the Labour Party constitution and as far as he is concerned they will be disciplined.
Mr Chaudhry says the final decision will be made by the FLP's national council which deals with disciplinary matters.
The national council consists mainly of representatives from the National Farmers Union which is Mr Chaudhry's power base.
Meanwhile, Mr Chaudhry's senators were sworn into the Upper House today.
