Two men in Fiji, a former pyschiatric patient and a 24-year-old electrician of Nasinu, have been charged with attempting to breach security during Princess Anne's visit to Fiji.

The first incident occurred just as the Princess was leaving her engagement at Save the Children's Fiji office.

Fijilive says the former patient rushed out of his house, which was next to the office, and threw an iron garlic crusher at a police officer with the security detail.

The Princess was seated inside her vehicle.

The second incident took place at the Boron House compound in Suva where the Princess was staying..

An intoxicated man entered the compound and was discovered wandering outside.

A Police Public Relations Officer, Sylvia Low, says there was no direct threat to the Princess in either incident.
