Airlines Papua New Guinea says it will introduce services between Brisbane and Port Moresby in three weeks.

The airline's managing director, Simon Wild, says the new service will run twice-weekly.

The Post Courier reports Simon Wild as saying the airline expects to gain financially from the new jet service, but it is also committed to promote PNG as a tourist and business destination.

Mr Wild says the airline will not be serving any other new markets at this stage.
