6:45 am on 11 July 2006

The Fiji Labour Party MP for Vuda Open, Felix Anthony, is reported to be willing to risk losing his parliamentary seat in his quest for transparency in decision making in the party.

Fiji TV quotes Mr Anthony as saying he will not budge and will continue to voice his concerns about party leader Mahendra Chaudhry's nominees who have been appointed senators.

Mr Anthony, along with cabinet ministers Poseci Bune and Krishna Datt, as well as MP Agni Deo Singh and former senator Dr Atu Emberson-Bain, have criticized the appointments with Mr Datt accusing Mr Chaudhry of nepotism.

Mr Anthony says their attempt to have a meeting with Mr Chaudhry to discuss the issue has failed.

The party president, Jokapeci Koroi, says the senate appointments are a non-issue that is nothing to worry about.
