Samoa's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Misa Telefoni, will attend a special meeting with Wholesaler Travel Agents in Sydney.

He will also visit the Samoa Tourism Authority's bureau in Auckland.

At the meeting with wholesalers, the Tourism Authority will outline its strategic plan for promoting Samoa as a tourist destination.

Samoa sees Fiji and the Cook Islands as its toughest competitors for tourists.

After Australia, the Samoa delegation will be in New Zealand in time for an audit of the Samoa Tourism Authority's Auckland Office.

The audit will be carried out by the Controller and Chief Auditor and will cover the preceding two financial years.

The Samoa Embassy in Wellington and the Consulate Office in Auckland will also be audited.
