There is confusion surrounding the future of several Solomon Islands cabinet ministers after reports that the prime minister, Manasseh Sogavare, has told them to resign or face the sack.
No names have been given of the ministers concerned.
Our correspondent, Dorothy Wickham, has more.
"Reports of sackings by prime minister, Manasseh Sogavare, has caused concern amongst the diplomatic community and donor partners as the government arrives at its one hundred days in office. Just a day after Mr Sogavare announced the launch of the government policy document, reports out of the prime minister's office say 9 ministers were handed letters late last night, asking for their resignation. This represents nearly half the cabinet. All attempts to contact some of the ministers were unsuccessful and the prime minister's office is refusing to confirm the reports."
