The secretary to the Solomon Islands' Prime Minister says communication between the political arm of the government and the public service needs to improve.
Speaking at the launch of the government's new working document, Dr John Roughan said Permanent Secretaries need to embrace new technology to help them with their work.
Dr Roughan says he has requested weekly briefings between permanent secretaries and the Prime Ministers Office to ensure the flow of information in government.
He called on the officials to embrace technology to do their work, noting that the level of email usage by Permanent Secretaries was not up to the level he was expecting.
He asked Permanent Secretaries and Ministers to see what he called electronic gadgetry as a vehicle to achieving good governance.
