Two Samoas set up two task forces

3:23 pm on 21 August 2006

As a result of talks, the leaders of the two Samoas have agreed to establish two task forces.

One will be dealing with the prevention of drug trafficking and the other is to look at ways the two countries can work together to combat the rising price of fuel.

The talks involved the governor of American Samoa, Togiola Tulafono, and Samoa's prime minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, and officials.

It's hoped that by combining to purchase fuel, the two Samoas may be able to secure lower prices.
