The American Samoan governor, Togiola Tulafono, says he is saddened that some people defend Hawaiian Airlines while he is trying to get the carrier to lower its high fares.

In his weekend radio program, Togiola said he suspected that those opposing his stand are the rich individuals, who can afford the high fares.

He went on to say maybe even if the fares reached more than 2,000 US dollars they can afford to pay it and these rich individuals are not worried about it.
