Lots of fish for Niue but lack of export services

Niue's Premier Young Vivian says there's plenty of fish on the island with French Polynesian fishermen supplying its fish processing plant, but there is a problem with air transport for the finished product.

This follows the cancellation of the Polynesian Airlines midweek service via Samoa leaving only the one day a week flight by Air New Zealand.

Mr Vivian says they're now left with limited transport options.

"' We need another air flight to Niue to carry the fish out of Niue. Or, we need a small airline to connect with either Samoa or Tonga to take our fish away."
