Airport and tourism officials in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas are set to hold discussion with Dubai-based airlines next month in a bid to get flights to Saipan.

The territory's Ports Authority consultant Carlos H. Salas says the Marianas Visitors Authority will also be involved in a one-on-one forum with some airlines in Dubai.

He did not name any airlines that the delegation would meet in Dubai.

CPA has recently signed a two-year agreement with a British-based consulting firm to develop new direct flights in efforts to revive the tourism industry.

Tourism in the CNMI suffered a setback after Japan Airlines dropped its flights to Saipan.
