Samoan police are investigating the death of a rugby player.

Foe Roma Finau, who was a member of the Manu Samoa Sevens rugby team, is suspected to have drowned while the team was in training over the week-end.

The incident happened while the squad was doing fitness training at sea.

He was found stuck under the sea after some 40 minutes of search by several police divers and rescuers.

Foe Roma Finau was in his early thirties and a first time national rugby player selected for the up-coming international IRB sevens tournament.
