A newly formed company,Tonga Airports Ltd (TAL) will take over the management of all airports in Tonga on January 1, 2007.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation said that the government owned company has been registered under the Public Enterprises Act.
The Matangi Tonga Online reports an Interim Board has also been appointed to direct the operations of the new company.
The board members are the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Transport and the Attorney General.
