Reports of a row developing within Solomon Islands government

A row is reported to be brewing between the Solomon Islands prime minister, Manasseh Sogavare, and his deputy.

Government insiders say the dispute has prompted the deputy PM, Job Dudley Tausinga, to stay away from a regional environment ministers' meeting in New Caledonia.

A reliable source says the two have differences on several issues, with Mr Tausinga losing interest in the Sogavare-led coalition.
