Samoa's Supreme court has started hearing of criminal charges filed against the leader of the Samoa Party, Su'a Rimoni Ah Chong.

The charges have been filed by former minister of broadcasting, Mulitalo Siafausa Vui, who lost his seat after Su'a filed an election petition against him.

Su'a is facing two remaining criminal charges of bribery after one other charge was dropped by the informant.

The former minister's lawyer alleges Su'a gave money and goods to several voters and electors in Lano village.
